A Poem

In the future I’ll be a knight,

Bold and fearless; marching on.

Fighting to defend and fighting to protect,

The majestic King and His unending reign.

Denying the evil and seeking the good,

Crossing my sword against the wicked.

Joining the Master in all that He does,

And suiting for battle until He returns.

I wrote this poem for a writing assignment where I had to start with "In the future I'll be..." After I wrote it I began to think about how the things I mentioned shouldn't be looked at in a future tense. If I am the Lord's Child then I should be doing these things now, right?
Living for today is something I have been working on lately. I am striving to take each precious day I'm given and live it for the Lord. There is so much I could do more in each day, but I'm taking it one step at a time. I feel like if my world becomes accustomed to living this way, then I'll be ready for any task, big or small, that He brings my way.
So, instead of making this a look into the future...I am making my knighthood something of everyday...starting today! :)
